Our Clinics & Services
We provide a comprehansive range of services to our patients, covering everything from asthma advice and medication through to travel advice and vaccinations. Clinics cover:
- Ear Irrigation: Twice a month clinics, Eardrops need to be put in 2 or 3 times a day for 7 - 10 days prior to treatment. Syringing will only be carried out after the advice about using oil/ear drops on this sheet has been adhered to. Full details under "ear Irrigation" tab
- Respiratory Disease: all asthma patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) are encouraged to attend regularly.
- Diabetic Clinic: patients are seen six-monthly for assessment and advice on preventing the complications of diabetes.
- Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) Clinic: Patients requiring anti-coagulant therapy are assessed at the practice following hospital referral.
- Thyroid Clinic: all patients with thyroid disease are assessed annually.
- Well Woman Clinic: advice on a range of women's issues including cervical smear tests.
- Family Planning & Menopause Clinic: Sister Liz Brown is specially trained in family planning and problems of the menopause.
- Antenatal Clinic: pre-conception advice (advice on how to be healthy before you become pregnant) is available at the surgery.
In addition to our clinics, we also proivde the following services:
- Blood Pressure Checks: all patients treated for hypertension will be seen every 6 months by a practice nurse.
- Childhood Immunisations: recommended vaccinations for children
- Minor Illness clinics : impetigo, tonsillitis, allergies and acne - and lots in between, please click here to see problems that are appropriate for a patient to see a Nurse in minor illness slots.
- Other Vaccinations: including meningitis, flu and pneumococcal
- Elderly Health Checks: patients over 75 years of age are entitled to an annual health check and will be seen either at home or in the surgery by a district nursing sister.
- Stop Smoking: support when you decide to quit smoking
- Minor Surgery: we are equipped to carry out minor surgical procedures
- Treatment Room: we offer appointments for dressings, removal of sutures, ear syringing/advice, injections/vaccinations and blood pressure monitoring.
Cathedral Medical Group also provides the following private clinics, held on a Monday evening, by appointment only. For bookings and further details, please telephone the surgery.
- Travel Advice: Sister Mary Watts - advice and vaccinations for those travelling abroad.
- Aesthetic Clinic: Dr Liz Evans - including Botox and dermal fillers.
- Other Private Services: including medicals and issuing private medical certificates.
