Your practice takes part in NHS-supported research studies.
Studies vary from observational projects to short-term use of a new medication to longer-term research following patients with various conditions for many years, but all aim to help with the development of treatment.
Some examples of studies that this practice has taken part in are:
- A large randomised controlled trial to find out if treating certain bacteria with antibiotics can reduce ulcer bleeding when taking aspirin on a regular basis.
- A mixed methods study to explore barriers to the use of intrauterine contraception in General Practice settings.
The NHS supports research through funding of staff and providing a network of experts across England. We are very grateful to the patients who give their time and commitment to help with research studies.
